Note
Alexander Fairweather Low lived his early adult life in Dundee, listed as being a Merchant in 1841. By the late 1840s he had emigrated to Mexico. Between 1846-1854 he acquired and expanded production at the Tizapan cotton mill, “La Hormiga”, following the death of its founder, Andrew A. Lyall (1806 -1846) a son of Aberdeen’s Comptroller of Customs. He remained owner to 1865, after which he returned via America to settle in London. AF Low married Mary Anne Julia Chabot in Mexico 24 July, 1852
