Miscellaneous papers relating to the 'Countess of Derby' including correspondence to Messrs James Allison & Sons from Captains Law and Rollo, masters of the 'Countess of Derby', giving progress reports of its voyage from Penzance to Glasgow, Valparaiso, Chincha, Queenstown and Hamburg for period 1894-1896; printed bill of sale relating to the barque, 'Countess of Derby', 1895; letters and telegrams to Messrs James Allison & Sons, relating mainly to the sale of the 'Countess of Derby', dated 1895; and correspondence to Messrs James Allison & Sons, from Captain Watkins and others, relating to the voyage of the 'Countess of Derby' to Buenos Aires, Adelaide, Wallaroo, Falmouth, Penzance, Newport, Roslare, Iquique, Liverpool, Garston, Penaste, Valparaiso, Chanoral, Genoa, New York, 1889-1894. Also contains Charter parties for the 'Countess of Derby', 1879-1895; balance sheets of the 'Countess of Derby'. 1878-1895; memorandum of agreement between the owners of the barque, 'Countess of Derby', of Dundee, and Messrs James Allison & Sons, Shipowners, Dundee, 1878; formal papers relating to the freeboard marking of the 'Countess of Derby', 1891, and apprentice's indenture with Mathew Allison, Shipowner, Dundee, in favour of Alfred Brown, 1890. Folder also contains miscellaneous papers including invoices relating to the 'Countess of Derby'. 1895; contract of sale of the 'Countess of Derby', to Mr A. Berentson. 1895; and Bills of sale relating to the 'Countess of Derby'. 1877-1895.
