Correspondence found in "secret drawer" of piece of furniture ("Bonheur du jour") by staff at H.C. Baxter & Sons, London, Specialists in 18th Century Furniture, (later sold to Norman Adams Ltd.), 1803-1834. Not all items are written by Bell. Main subjects are business, family, military (Bell was involved with local volunteers), and medical matters (often very detailed for example, note repeated use of opium). [Photocopies - many items poorly copied; it is not known if the complete cache has been copied].
