Volume 2 is a proof copy of 'Histoire des Arts en France', 'Description des Monumens Fran231ais', 'Apre231u des Arts du Dessin, Nouvelles Observations sur la Peinture sur Verre' with manuscript notes, some dated 1826 and 1827, and reproductions and sketches of designs; and Volume 3 is printed articles by Alexandre Lenoir and others, 1820 and 1827, "Peinture en Mosaique", "Peinture en Porcelaine", "Peinture sur Glace", etc., with manuscript notes; and letter from Eustache Hyacinthe Langlois (1777-1837 dated ?1809 and 1811 on related subjects). Volume 1 not included.

Most of the photographs relate to areas which had previously had some connection with the textile industry, suggesting they may have been taken as part of a project relating to the textile industry in Dundee
