David Fife to unidentified addressee [Bishop Smith] states that his congregation has "lately made a very noble stand in Defence of the Religion and Worship of the Church of England" and adds transcript of a pamphlet being a letter, 27 July 1744, from The Presbyters of Edinburgh to [Bishop Keith] and the Bishops of Scotland, outlining events since the death of Bishop Ochterlony and deploring any attempts to introduce new liturgies or ordinals [18th century copy] [See also Br MS DC/82 for transcript of and notes on the above documents by Dean Christie].
