Mainly relates to acquisition of land and property in Dundee and Perth by the North British Railway Co, but includes conveyance of land in Dundee by Dundee Town council to the Caledonian Railway Co, 1868 and papers relating to land behind Cupar Jail, 1846-1892. Also includes: (22) Plans [2] showing ground between Foundry Lane and East Dock Street, Dundee, property of the Joint Committee of the Caledonian and North British Railway Co, for the purpose of constructing new railway sidings. Maps and plan, mainly of Dundee, Angus, Perthshire; subjects include property, railways, water supplies, harbours, River Tay, roads, estates, Ordnance Survey c.1771-1940. These plans were kept on behalf of their clients by Thomas Thornton, Son & Co in the course of their practice as solicitors.
Inventories and valuations of furniture etc., in Thornton Castle, Laurencekirk belonging to Mrs Thornton and Miss Scott and 13 plans of buildings belonging to the Thornton Estate surveyed by Northern Assurance Co Ltd. Thornton Castle, near Laurencekirk in the parish of Marykirk, Kincardineshire is known to date back to at least 1531. It was an ancient seat of the Strachan family. The property was acquired by Alexander Crombie, an advocate and land agent, in 1804, was considerably refurbished in the following years, and was later owned by Sir Thomas Thornton.

Oral history recordings, permission forms and transcripts created during Gregory's research for a history dissertation, during her 4th year as a student at Dundee University. The purpose of the research was to understand why perceived community spirit in the tenements altered in the new 1960s housing.
