Translation and disposition by Sir John Weymes of Bogie in favour of Captain David Kyninmonthe, brother to Patrick Kyninmonthe of that Ilk, of an obligation granted David Symsone of Smystoun, burgess of Dysert to Robert Bruce, 'minister of godis word at the kirk of ballingrie', on behalf of Christine Seytoun, daughter of the deceased Michaell Seytoun in Lauchestoun in 1648 and subsequently disponed to Sir John Weymes.

Mainly relates to acquisition of land and property in Dundee and Perth by the North British Railway Co, but includes conveyance of land in Dundee by Dundee Town council to the Caledonian Railway Co, 1868 and papers relating to land behind Cupar Jail, 1846-1892. Also includes: (22) Plans [2] showing ground between Foundry Lane and East Dock Street, Dundee, property of the Joint Committee of the Caledonian and North British Railway Co, for the purpose of constructing new railway sidings. Three letters from W. C. Stauke (in London) to James Dalyell (in Enghien Montmorency)

He describes his journey from Paris. Says he was in Jersey and that it was not a very exciting place. His third letter says that he had to leave his boarding in Jersey very quickly (this is why his last letter ended so abruptly) because the building was going to be seized by the landlord because of threat of fraud

Maps and plan, mainly of Dundee, Angus, Perthshire; subjects include property, railways, water supplies, harbours, River Tay, roads, estates, Ordnance Survey c.1771-1940. These plans were kept on behalf of their clients by Thomas Thornton, Son & Co in the course of their practice as solicitors.

Thornton Castle, Laurencekirk: inventories and plans

Inventories and valuations of furniture etc., in Thornton Castle, Laurencekirk belonging to Mrs Thornton and Miss Scott and 13 plans of buildings belonging to the Thornton Estate surveyed by Northern Assurance Co Ltd. Thornton Castle, near Laurencekirk in the parish of Marykirk, Kincardineshire is known to date back to at least 1531. It was an ancient seat of the Strachan family. The property was acquired by Alexander Crombie, an advocate and land agent, in 1804, was considerably refurbished in the following years, and was later owned by Sir Thomas Thornton.
