James Farquhar White.

Born Dunnichen. Lived at Castle Huntly and then Balruddery, both in Longforgan. He also owned Spring Grove and cottage at 170-172 Nethergate, now part of the University. He was the father of eight living children, including Eleanor White and Beatrice White who married John and Frederick B Sharp respectively.

Second child of James Farquhar White and Elizabeth Grundy. Married James Swan Ogilvie of Tay Lodge, Broughty Ferry in 1884, and had three children, James Farquhar, David Douglas and Catherine. Lived at Gray House, Liff and Brackenbrae, Broughty Ferry.

(1864 - 1946), 5th child of J F White Married Frederick Bower Sharp (youngest brother of John) of Fernhall, Dundee in 1896. Lived at Hill of Tarvit, Cupar, Fife. Had two children, Hugh Frederick Bower and Elizabeth.

Winifred White (1873-1944), 8th and youngest child of JF White.
Married Ralph Alexander Wilson. Lived (and died) in Golders Green, London. Had two children - Ralph Patrick Farquhar (1911-1942) and a daughter.

Ellen Manning was the housekeeper who looked after the children when their mother died in 1876. She is listed as unmarried, age 39 and as house maid/house keeper in the 1881 census at Castle Huntly. James F. White left her £2000 in his Will.
