'Controversy between Church Branches concerning the eating of blood'

Contains copies of letters, mainly correspondence between the churches at Dundee, Edinburgh, London, and Glasgow relating to the different viewpoint on the eating of blood taken by the church in Edinburgh, 1854-1855.

Transcribed notes of their conversation about eating blood: 'Mr Sandeman remarked that this is a sad thing this separation and spoke in the way of lamenting133.the whole matter lies in a nutshell - you charge us with the sin of eating blood because we consider it lawful to eat game133.after the blood is separated from the flesh' Croal notes that as the meeting was unexpected 'I thought I would speak freely'

There are several songs at the end of the volume and an account of the visit of the American Brethren in 1834

Volume containing membership lists for Dundee, Leith, Aberdeen, Perth, Glasgow, Paisley, Dornoch, London, New England, with the names of the members of the Tealing congregation who broke away from the Established Church in 1725. Also includes assorted poems, songs and writings, including the Lord's Prayer in several languages, comparative alphabets, and a devotional list of scriptures compiled by James Scott.

'Roll of the Church of Perth with lists of the Scattered Brethren in connection therewith at home and abroad. Made up as at June 1848, with alterations subsequent thereto.'

Includes additional rolls for 1863, updated to 1875, for 1876, updated to 1912, and for 1912, updated to 1932. Includes a list of members present when the Perth Church closed on 14 October 1928.
