Photocopies of articles from The Free Church of Scotland Monthly

Photocopies of articles concerning the mission and hospital at Tiberias. Most of the articles are written from Tiberias by Dr Torrance, but Rev. William Ewing, Dr George Wilson, Miss Dora List, A.H. Freeland Barbour, Rev. Dr Milne Rae and Rev. James Stalker also contribute. The period from the start of the mission, through the construction of the hospital, up to the First World War is covered, as is the development from mutual distrust between the missionaries and the Jewish and Muslim authorities, to greater respect and tolerance. There is also much information about the various colleagues who joined Dr Torrance at various times.
