Caricatures by "O.H."

[Osborne Henry Mavor alias James Bridie]. Collection of prints showing various Glasgow medical and university personalities, with relevant notes: Dr John Brownlee, Dr Murdoch Cameron, Dr Sam Cameron, Dr A.K. Chalmers, Dr A.H. Charteris, Dr F.J. Charteris, Dr G.A. Clark, Rev. Dr James Cooper, Dr T. Kennedy Dalziel, John Shaw Dunn, John Fergusson, Dr Leonard Findlay, Dr J. Glaister, Professor Andrew Gray, Dr W.K. Hunter, Dr W.R. Jack, Dr Robert Kennedy, Dr Mackintosh, Sir William McEwan, Dr George Middleton, Colonel Robert Muir, Mr R.H. Parry, Professor Noel Paton, Sir John Primrose, Dr Ralph Stockman, Dr J.H. Teacher. The collection is probably one of "O.H.'s" portfolios of coloured cartoons "in the Max Beerbohm manner", which was sold at the Glasgow University Student Welfare Bazaar of 1923 and was apparently drawn a decade earlier but not made available to the public because "some of the subjects had not liked them very much".

Correspondence

Consists of letters, 1 and 9 October 1963, Professor Adam Patrick to Professor G.H. Bell with acknowledgement from Professor Bell, 12 October 1963 and letter, 9 October 1963, Principal T.M. Knox to Professor Adam Patrick. Concerns the question of whether a female retired Professor should be given the title "Emeritus" of "Emeritia"; refers specifically to Professor Margaret Fairlie.

Hunter's Surgical Lectures

Apparently a copy taken from a set of original notes of the lectures of John Hunter (1728-1793), with diagrams. Volume III Lectures 49-67, with index to Volume II and last page of Lecture 48. (19th century). Also, covering letter, 9 February 1954, from Walter F. Harper, Anatomy Department, University College of the West Indies, to Professor Patrick.

CLOSED - Patient files created by Adam Patrick in his role as a consulting physician operating from his home in Windsor Street, Dundee. His practice covered Angus, Perthshire and Fife, but he also saw some patients from further afield. Files naming patient, with Patrick's comments, but some also include results, letters from patients, their families and other doctors. Some files cover institutions (eg the RAF, councils, insurance companies and various Trade Unions) and hospitals
