Torrance family
Album containing medical photographs. Mostly taken at the Scottish Mission Hospital, Tiberias by Dr Herbert W. Torrance. Dated photographs are between 1926 and 1947, the majority however are undated. A range of medical conditions is shown including amputations, anthrax, cancer, hernias, Hodgkins' Disease, hydatid cysts, stones, syphtic rupia and T.B. Examples of native remedies include bejel, kiey and seton treatment as well as charms. Identified individuals include Abu-il-Messeyeh, Sister Dougall, Mr and Mrs Elias Haddal, Nurse Haifa, Dr Kitchin Mahfuz, Miss Paterson, Dr Herbert W. Torrance and Yusif. [286].
